Finance Committee

The responsibility of the Finance committee is to look after the fiscal affairs of the Society as directed by the Administrative committee and the President. The Treasurer seeks quotations for all services provided by the Society other than those supplied by IEEE Headquarters, and those relating to the conferences sponsored by DEIS. The latter are obtained by the treasurers of the conferences and subsequently approved by the Chair of the Meetings Committee (MC). The Society Treasurer also serves as a member of MC.

The Treasurer prepares the Society annual budget for approval by the President and Adcom before submission to IEEE Technical Activities Board. The operating Manual stipulates that the budget has to be balanced. The Treasurer checks the monthly financial statements, provided by IEEE, for accuracy and presents updated reports to all Adcom meetings. The Treasurer vets all submitted invoices and seeks approval from the President for their payment by IEEE Headquarters. .
